Gorse is a heavy three-piece band from Brighton, formed in 2008. After a couple of years with changing line-ups, guitar/vocalist James Parker (ex Hey Colossus) and bassist Olly Thomas (ex-Gilamonsters) met Jennie Howell (ex-From Beneath It Devours, Black Neck Band of the Common Loon) thanks to a tip off from a friend, Ash (drummer with the late, great Charlottefield). Jennie brought a jazz-influenced but hard-hitting style and cemented a new sound. Reinvigorated, Gorse began writing collaboratively in earnest, and the new album is the end result.

"Long-form weather-beaten doom-infused post-metal. Heavy on patience and drenched in foreboding, the six tracks are by turns simmering and scorching"

Heavy rock album of the year, without a doubt, from the UK's GORSE (God Is In The TV review here):

'a post-metal masterpiece, ‘Twisting Nature’ lets its beauty out slowly, eventually revealing itself as a confident, knowing, utterly precise beauty – after all, there was never truly anything worth having that was easy'
